3 of 5 Slow but well priced Monday, January 05, 2009 Chris C from Los Angeles, Ca.
Nice machine, everything works fine but it's SLOW. I wait and wait for it to... read a disc, turn on, turn off, resume, (yes it does resume from previous stop point but ONLY if you hit it in the narrow time window: 7 seconds after it's been turned on or before it loads the disc again). It takes about 45 seconds to read a disc and play anything.
The remote is annoying because it's front and back are the same so it's hard to tell, without a light on, which side is pointing toward the player. I'm always turning the remote around to point it the right way. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Value Tuesday, December 09, 2008 Joe from South Pasadena, CA
For the price, this is a very good DVD player. Setting up player was straight-forward and it worked without a hitch. The remote could be nicer - it looks like a toy, but is functional. The player doesn't have memory to begin where you left the movie (if you stopped it), but for $50 I expected this to be a basic machine. The setup allows all the basic, functional controls for aspect, color, sound, etc and they all work fine. I've been using this for only two weeks, but so far, it plays all the DVDs. The performance is very good. I'm happy with it and recommend it as a good value. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good value, good player, poor remote Thursday, September 11, 2008 A Customer from Burlington, VT
This player is a great value for the cost - good tracking, image, etc. Remote is poorly designed and not very powerful: I can bounce the beam from my Sony remote off of picture glass to operate the TV - I have to be directly in front of this player and quite close to use the remote.
